REFORM it, REMOVE Reisa Weinstock and the DOH from there.
Allow a NO Profit Organization that has at heart the well being of the NYC animals to be in charge of NYC AC&C.
Promote and work for NO KILL in NYC.
For the past year I have been watching and sharing on the Facebook page Urgent Part 2 - Urgent Death Row Dogs. https://www.facebook.com/Urgentdeathrowdogs?fref=ts In the past year I have watched as perfectly good, even great, animals have been killed by NY Animal Care and Control. I even rescued a puppy who was on the list to die. These animals are not supposed to be killed for space or if they have a treatable illness (they usually have Kennel Cough which is a cold for a dog). Never the less ACC kills them claiming they are sick. Some of these dogs are surrendered by owners because they are too old, they got tired of the dog, they are done breeding the dog (That is an unofficial reason, from what I can see by the fact that the female is returned with milk filled breasts that would be my assessment) and because of Breed Specific Legislation among others. Many of these dogs are trained, housebroken and can be adopted. Many are rescued because of this page: Urgent Part 2. Not because of the efforts of ACC. Happy ending stories are great! Some become service dogs, part of families, and many rescuers/adopters say," Who really rescued who?" In the past efforts were made to get this information out to the public & start a movement. I would like to break this wide open and stop the insane cruelty that continues at ACC. I think NY would be outraged! The US would be outraged!
