Murdering innocent pets, including pregnant cats and dogs, also kittens and puppies under 8 weeks old, is totally abhorrent. If the ACC adopted out these pets, making a charge for them would create revenue to spay or neuter older cats and dogs, giving them a better chance to be adopted into a loving forever home. The unsanitary conditions in the ACC need to be drastically improved, most healthy pets succumb to the "ACC cough", and this is generally an excuse for euthanasia. The killing must stop, it is inhumane as are the conditions these poor animals are kept in. Most of them look terrified in their photo's. The lottery system for pledges to keep an animal alive is also ridiculous. Please overhaul all practices there and make adoption a priority. Most pets killed would have made wonderful companions or family pets, had they been given the chance.
